Generally, good populations of common carp and clear water are mutually exclusive. In other words, dense populations of common carp tend to keep water fairly muddy. However, robust common carp populations occur in area streams (Missouri, Mississippi, Meramec and Big rivers) with the Meramec between Winter Park and Greentree Park being fairly good. Local lakes with common carp would include: Bee Tree Park Lake, Creve Coeur Park Lake, Simpson Park Lake, South Lake (Willmore Park) and Lake 33 on the Busch Area.
